Growth is uncomfortable

Last night, my husband and I let go of something that had been a constant in our lives for 15 years—our beautiful truck. It was with us from the very beginning, through every milestone, every challenge, and every triumph. No matter how much life changed, that truck remained.
Letting it go wasn’t easy. Even though we recently welcomed a newer, bigger, and stronger car into our family, parting with the old one felt like losing a piece of our journey. I held on for as long as I could, but sometimes, growth means releasing what once served you, even when it’s hard.
This moment reminded me that moving forward often comes with discomfort. Change forces us to let go of what’s familiar to make space for something greater. It’s not easy, but it’s necessary.
I’ve learned that the moments when I feel the most uncomfortable are often the ones that shape me the most. Growth doesn’t come wrapped in comfort—it stretches you, challenges your beliefs, and forces you to face the parts of yourself that need to evolve.
Balancing a career, parenting, self-care, and personal ambitions hasn’t been easy. There have been times when I felt overwhelmed, questioning whether I was doing enough—or too much. But I realized that staying where I was, just because it felt safe, wasn’t an option. Growth required me to step into discomfort, to embrace change, and to push forward even when it felt hard.
The truth is, the version of you that achieves your dreams won’t be the same as the one who started. You will have to grow into that person. And growth isn’t a one-time event—it’s a daily choice.
If you’re struggling to let go of something—be it a habit, a job, or even a cherished possession—know that growth always requires some form of release. And on the other side of that discomfort? A new chapter waiting to happen!
We are all unique, we all grow differently to reach our unique self of self actulization!
