From Doubt to Finish Line: My 5K Journey 🌟

Three months ago, I registered for the Ooredoo Marathon. Walking had become my outlet, my escape, and my joy. But in December, life threw me a curveball—an excruciating knee pain left me limping, and the doctor said it was wear and tear. I was disheartened. Coming from a sports family but never being “the sporty kind,” this was the first time I had truly shown interest in an activity.
I was advised against the run. Yet, as the new year began, I watched my community train with dedication and thought: No, I’m stronger than this. I will atleast walk it out.
With barely two weeks to prepare, anxiety weighed heavy—I am not a light person, and my knee was still healing. The day after my Birthday, January 16th, I stood at the start line. The crowd, the vibe, the energy—it was electrifying. I told myself: Take it slow, no rush. A kind friend walked at my pace, and for 55 minutes I jogged, walked, and pushed through. I started my new year with a challenge I never thought would be something I’d choose to do.
Then came the sign: 400m to go. Tears welled up. I called my mom and hubby, and their cheers carried me to the finish. Crossing that line was one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life.
For years, people laughed at me, insulted me for my weight. But that day, I understood what it meant to not care. To rise above. To surround yourself with the right people who believe in you. I was humbeled by this marathon journey, and I’m grateful for the people who believe I could do this ❤️.
đź’Ş Life will keep throwing challenges, but strength is built in those moments when you choose to keep moving forward.
✨ Your finish line may look different than mine, but remember: it’s not about speed, size, or expectations—it’s about courage, persistence, and heart.
